Colorado's David Ketterer and Petra Hyncicova have been selected as the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Athletes of the Year.

The award is selected by the coaches in the league.

Hyncicova was selected for women's Nordic while Ketterer was for men's alpine. They were joined by Montana State's Benedicte Lyche (women's alpine) and Utah's Martin Bergstroem (men's Nordic) as the 2017 RMISA Athlete of the Year selections.

Hyncicova swept the NCAA titles in the 15K freestyle and 5K classic races, becoming the 15th woman to sweep the cross country races at the NCAA Championships and the fourth Buff. The junior from Liberec, Czech Republic had five wins and seven podium finishes this season. Hyncicova is a five-time All-American over her three seasons at CU. She competed at the U23 World Ski Championships in each of the past two seasons.

Ketterer, a native of Bad Durrheim, Germany, swept both the men's slalom and giant slalom races at the NCAA Championships to become only the fifth skier in NCAA history and the third Buff to sweep the two races. He won seven total races during his freshman season, matching CU's alpine record for wins in a season, and finished on the podium nine times. Ketterer was the RMISA men's alpine MVP, won the 2017 NorAm Cup slalom title and made two World Cup starts during the season.
