Colorado's David Ketterer continued his absolute dominance on the slopes on Thursday at Western Region Open FIS Thursday at Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. He won the men's giant slalom on Thursday, and it wasn't even close.

He had the fastest runs on both the first and second times down the hill; his first run time of 1:07.52 was over two seconds faster than any of the other 104 racers. His two-run total time of 2:17.20 was three seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Martin Grasic of Utah, who finished in 2:20.20.

Ketterer has now won 14 of the 31 races he has competed in this winter when combining all of his NCAA, NorAm Cup and FIS competition races like this one Thursday (11 wins have been in the slalom, three in the giant slalom).

Also finishing in the top 10 of the men's GS race was senior Roger Carry. Carry placed sixth, one spot ahead of his brother, Patrick, who races for Montana State. CU's Carry had a two-run time of 2:22.64 on Thursday.

On the women's side, CU had five racers finish in the top 18 in the field of 87. The Buffs went 7-8-10 with Tonje Trulsrud being the top CU finisher. She was followed right behind in eighth by freshman Isabella Fidjeland and sophomore Nora Christensen came in 10th.

Freshman Megan McGrew placed 11th and senior Katie Hostetler came in 18th. Andrea Arnold was the sixth Buff racing from the women's alpine team, she placed 55th.
