After recording a school-record seven goals against Michigan to open the 2018 season Feb. 9, Colorado junior Miranda Stinson has been named the first Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Stinson had a huge game against UM Friday, totaling eight points (seven goals and one assist), as well as four draw controls and two ground calls. She scored her first two goals of the season within 26 seconds of each other (21:45 and 21:19), which put the Buffs up 3-0. Stinson tallied her third marker of the game at 7:47 and then with 1:55 left in the first half, she converted on her first of three free-position attempts.
In the second frame, Stinson broke a 10-10 tie with her second free-position goal, which sparked a 10-0 scoring run for the Buffs to close out the game. She scored her final two markers of the game at 19:33 and 15:37, the later her final free-position goal of the contest.
In the loss to No. 5 Florida, Stinson tallied one goal and three ground balls and a draw control. On the weekend, she led the Buffs with eight goals and nine points. Stinson was also second in ground balls (five).
