The Colorado women's golf team posted the second-best team score Monday in the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, lifting the Buffs to sixth place.
Colorado turned in a 15-over par 299 team score to climb four places. After two rounds, the Buffs are 41 over at the par 71, 5,981-yard Rio Mar Country Club.
Fourth-ranked Arkansas stayed atop the leaderboard at 18 over while Iowa State moved up one spot into second at 23 over. Kent State dropped one place into third carding a 594 or 26-over par two-day total. North Carolina State and TCU traded positions as North Carolina State moved into fourth at 32-over par 600, while TCU rounds out the top five teams in fifth at 35-over par 603.
Sophomore Robyn Choi turned in Colorado's best round of the tournament, carding a 1-over 72 to have a two-day scorecard of 147. Choi moved up 14 places and is tied for fifth place at 5-over par. Choi's front nine was a little up and down as she collected three birdies against three bogeys to finish at even par.
Kirsty Hodgkins had the biggest jump in rankings for the Buffs as she moved up 29 places to sit tied for 23rd place after two rounds.
Senior Brittany Fan moved up nine spots on the leaderboard and is also tied for 23rd place.
Maria Fassi of Arkansas holds onto her lead from Sunday as she sits atop the individual leaderboard at 1-over par 143.
