Colorado lacrosse players Sarah Brown and Marie Moore were both named second-team all-West/Midwest Region on Friday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Both players were named first-team all-conference earlier this spring.
Brown, a sophomore defender from Boulder, started all 18 games for CU this season. She led the team with a school-record 29 caused turnovers and added 46 draw controls and 24 ground balls. She also contributed on offense with six assists.
Moore, a junior midfielder from Brick, N.J., also started all 18 games. She led the team with 51 draw controls and had 30 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers. Offensively, she had 13 goals and nine assists.
The two players helped CU to the ninth-best scoring defense in the nation this season and a 13-5 record. The Buffaloes went 7-2 and finished third in the MPSF this year, the third season in program history.
