Tina Bokhua continued her strong play for the Colorado tennis team Sunday but the Buffs suffered their second setback of the weekend, falling 4-1 to undefeated Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., on Sunday.

Bokhua, a native of Moscow, Russia, won her sixth consecutive singles match as she upset 45th-ranked Anastasiya Rychagova, also a native of Moscow, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 1.

"Right now she's playing some of her best tennis," CU coach Nicole Kenneally said. "It's fun to watch and she's competing hard."

Nuria Ormeño Ruiz nearly pulled out a victory at No. 2 singles, falling 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 to Smith Hinton in a back-and-forth match.

CU's other two singles matches were also very close, despite finishing in straight sets. Jeannez Daniellost 7-6, 6-4, falling a break short in the second set at No. 3 and Annabelle Andrinopoulos lost 6-4, 7-6, falling a break short in the first set at No. 4.

Sunday marks the first time this season the Buffs have lost consecutive matches as they dropped to 3-4 overall. KU improved to 6-0 on the season.

CU will be back in action on Friday at Northern Colorado.
