CU women tabbed 11th in Big 12 by coaches
Coaches of the Big 12 Conference predict that Kathy McConnell-Miller's CU women's basketball team will finish 11th in the league this season, according to the preseason poll released Wednesday.
The Buffs finished ninth in the Big 12 last season with a conference record of 5-11. CU was 19-15 overall and advanced to the WNIT semifinals.
Oklahoma was selected to win the conference and received seven of the possible 11 first-place votes. Texas checked in a No. 2 in the poll (one first-place vote) and Iowa State was third, but received two first-place votes. Baylor (one first-place vote) and Texas A&M round out the top five.
Oklahoma State also received one first-place vote, but checked in at No. 6.
Missouri was voted to finish last in the conference.
Colorado opens the regular season Nov. 16 against Central Florida and begins Big 12 play Jan. 10 against Baylor.
