Last time
The Jayhawks came to Boulder last fall and won for the first time in 12 years thanks to 180 rushing yards and some timely turnovers, or, untimely from the Buffs' perspective. Cody Hawkins threw two interceptions and tailback Hugh Charles added a crucial fumble deep in KU territory. Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing burned the Buffs for the second consecutive year with 84 rushing yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown pass.
The coach
Mark Mangino is 41-37 in his seventh season as head coach of the Jayhawks.
Numbers game
174 -- the number of rushing yards quarterback Todd Reesing has gained in his two previous games against the Buffs. Reesing has accounted for 433 total yards and four touchdowns in those games.

I'd be a lot more impressed by the KU statistics if they played teams a little tougher than Sam Houston State, Florida International, and Louisana Tech.

I may be delusional, but I think our secondary is starting to look better, especially in terms of having some people who can force turnovers. They're still young and getting burned due to some on errors (Cha'pelle Brown versus Texas), but overall I think there's a lot of promise. The talent finally appears to be there, and they're making some INTs and causing a few fumbles. There's hope once the experience begins to show up.

i promise you, the word is out. the colorado line injuries make exploitation a necessary process, and this is not lost on the defensive coordinator in lawrence. kansas students and alumni love colorado, but not enough to give them a pass, or even overlook them. they see this as the one "sure" victory in the next half-dozen games.

Anyone else out there going to this one?
I'm looking for some fellow Buffs fans to hang/tailgate with before we put it to the J-Hawks.
It'd be a good chance to put a face w/a "username".
Let me know at dcasotti@q.com
I'm heading down to Lawrence from central Iowa on Friday afternoon w/my 10 yr. old son.
Hope to see some of you Buff faithfull there!
Go Buffs!

Buffs are getting 14 in Larrytown: Good time to put some heat on Reesing and control the ball on offense. Get ready and be ready.
