Not unless she averages 63.5 points over two WNIT Final Four games.
McFarland scored 30 more points on Sunday during CU's 96-90 overtime victory over TCU at the Coors Events Center to bring her career total to 1,940. The senior forward is second on the program's scoring list behind Lisa Van Goor (2,067 points from 1981-85).
"It seems every night someone steps up big," McFarland said. "It's just fun to watch when I'm on the floor."
Brittany Spears made a series of clutch plays down the stretch to lead CU to its comeback victory over Villanova on Thursday. Aija Putnina scored a career-high 22 points, and Whitney Houston made two key hoops in regulation to keep McFarland's career alive on Sunday.
Roby scored 50 points at the Big 12 Tournament to pass Donnie Boyce for the career scoring lead in the men's program with 2,001 points.
McFarland, who has scored 62 points in CU's last two games, can pass Roby by scoring 62 more points in the WNIT Final Four.
Looking ahead
The Buffs will host Marquette in the WNIT semifinals at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
"We don't know much about them," CU head coach Kathy McConnell-Miller said after Sunday's dramatic win.
The Golden Eagles (19-14) defeated Kentucky 69-64 on the road Sunday after beating Creighton (75-69) and Illinois (72-64) at home in the early rounds. Marquette was 8-8 in the Big East while Villanova was only 5-11.
North Carolina State will play at Michigan State in the other semifinal. The Wolf Pack (21-12) escaped with a 63-61 victory over St. Johns while the Spartans (22-13) held off rival Michigan 45-40 in overtime.
Notable
If the Buffs advance to the WNIT title game it will be the 18th 20-win season in program history. ... The 96 points were the most scored by CU this season, eclipsing the previous high in a 91-64 win over Jacksonville State. ... The Buffs' 37 points off the bench were a season high. ... CU set a record for its most points in an overtime with 20. ... McFarland was 28-for-30 (93.3 percent) at the line over the last two games.
