Big 12 honors Buff miler Pifer
IRVING, Texas -- Colorado senior Stephen Pifer was named the Big 12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Share and Enjoy It is Pifer's first track and field honor and his second overall, as he won the cross country honor in 2007.
Pifer broke a 22-year-old Potts Field record in the 1,500-meter run at the Potts Invitational on Saturday, finishing in 3 minutes, 47.75 seconds.
The old record of 3:48.25 was set by Paul Larkins of Oklahoma State at the Big Eight Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 1986.
Saturday's race was Pifer's first competition since the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships in November. His time is is the best in the Big 12 this season; and with the altitude conversion it is the top mark in the nation.
Colorado is back in action this Saturday at the Rob Upton Invitational at Colorado State
Golfers finish 7th
EUGENE, Ore. -- The Colorado women's golf team struggled down the stretch in the final round Tuesday and finished in seventh place Tuesday at the Oregon Invitational.
Host Oregon won with a 900 final score (36 over par). Colorado finished at 927.
CU sophomore Dominique Pytlewski finished eighth overall with a four-over 76 on Tuesday for a 225 total on the 6,052-yard, par-72 Eugene Country Club course.
The Buffs next host the Mountain View Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., on Saturday and Sunday.
