Barringer, who will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Beijing, ran a personal-best 4 minutes, 11.36 seconds. Her previous best was 4:17.19, which she ran April 25 at the Oregon Relays.
Ethiopia's Morgan Uceny won the race in 4:06.93.
"It was a well-run, conservative race, given that she has run only one other 1,500 this year, and that was three months ago," CU head coach Mark Wetmore said.
Barringer has raced in Europe before wearing a CU uniform. Last September, she ran at the DecaNation Championship and won the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Barringer, who will be a senior next fall, will run a steeplechase in Heusden, Belgium, on July 20 in her final tuneup before the Olympics.
The first round of the women's steeplechase is set for Aug. 15.
