CSU fills 2 coaching holes
FORT COLLINS -- Colorado State coach Steve Fairchild named former CSU quarterback Anthoney Hill as running backs coach Wednesday after offensive coordinator and running backs coach Curtis Modkins left for the NFL.
Modkins, hired Jan. 14 as offensive coordinator/running backs coach for CSU, joined the Kansas City Chiefs as running backs coach Wednesday. He rejoined new Chiefs offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, who had hired Modkins as a Georgia Tech assistant in 2002.

Also Wednesday, Fairchild named Greg Peterson offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach. Peterson will keep his responsibilities as recruiting coordinator.
Notable
Clint Bowen, who spent the past two years as co-defensive coordinator with Bill Young at Kansas, has been promoted to the job full time.
South Florida, ranked No. 2 last season after opening 6-0, will play at Notre Dame in 2011.
