Grevsgaard wins again as Buffs claim Invite

WINTER PARK -- Colorado senior Maria Grevsgaard continued her torrid pace this winter, winning the 10K classic race Sunday to help CU clinch the team title in the Colorado Invitational.

Grevsgaard has now won all four Nordic races this season, and she once again blistered the field on Sunday, winning by more than 80 seconds over runner-up Polina Ermoshina of New Mexico. Grevsgaard's four wins have come by a combined total of 5 minutes and 42 seconds, none less than 30 seconds.

Colorado won the meet with 549 points, followed by Utah (522) and Denver (515).

Grevsgaard now has 12 career victories at CU, tying her with teammate Lucie Zikova for the most career titles by a female in program history. Zikova and Grevsgaard are chasing all-time leader Per Kare Jakobsen, who claimed 13 cross country events from 1988-90. John Skajem also won 12 events in his career, which spanned 1985 through 1987.
