No happy homecoming for Dietz in final game at Coors
Kimberly Dietz didn't leave the Coors Events Center for the last time Saturday with fond memories.
Despite having two starting forwards foul out, Dietz and the Kansas State Wildcats had a chance to beat Colorado in Dietz's final game here.

She missed a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left that would have brought K-State within one of Colorado, and the Wildcats lost for just the third time in the Big 12 season, falling to the Buffs 73-68.
"It's always great to come home," Dietz, a senior, said. "It stinks that I have to leave here, that we have to leave here, with a loss. That's how it goes. It sucks, but we have to bounce back."
Dietz, a Boulder native who graduated from Monarch High School, finished with 16 points.
Dietz had eight points a little more than six minutes into the game, but didn't score again for a very long time.
Her next bucket didn't come until she hit 3-pointer with 12:41 to play in the second half to give her team a temporary lead, 50-49.
Twice she hit 3-pointers to give her team a lead in the second half.
But the Wildcats were beaten at their own game -- 3-point shooting -- when CU hit 12 treys.
"It's just plain and simple," Dietz said. "We weren't playing our best defense."
Ridge dismissed
Walk-on junior RyAnne Ridge of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was dismissed from the team this week for undisclosed reasons.
Ridge played all of three minutes in two games this year and went scoreless. She sat out last year after transferring to CU from Tulsa, where she played for one year under CU coach Kathy McConnell-Miller before McConnell-Miller came to Colorado nearly three years ago.
The dismissal was not announced by CU officials.
"I'm not commenting," McConnell-Miller said.
Mullaney injured
Guard Kelly Jo Mullaney, who is sitting out this year due to NCAA transfer rules because she left Colorado State this offseason, was in a walking boot Saturday after injuring her ankle.
Mullaney, who is expected to be a starting guard next year, has been a valuable practice player for the Buffs this year.
"She popped something in her ankle," McConnell-Miller said. "She heard it come out. It's a little more than a sprain. But it's not a fracture."
