Woelk: There's no substance to Texas whine

Just when you think you've seen it all, folks from the land of Bevo have taken fantasy-laden conspiracy theories to a new level.

Never have sour grapes turned into a cheap whine so fast.

Barely had the words "Colorado" escaped from Darrell Scott's mouth on Wednesday then irate Texas fans were flooding the Internet with accusations that Colorado must have cheated in order to get Scott to commit to CU.

The rumors ranged from ridiculous to outlandish. None appeared to have any basis in fact.

Still, there are some interesting questions that might be worth asking in the whole scenario.

Start with the role played by St. Bonaventure High School recruiting coordinator Roger Sonsini. This is a man who is supposed to have aplayer's best interests at heart -- but after Scott committed to Colorado, Sonsini told the Dallas Morning News, "Colorado came in on Friday and said and did something and offered something that Darrell and his mom (Alexis Scott) couldn't pass up."

Of course, Sonsini wouldn't say exactly what happened. But in the process, he implicated the student athlete and his mother of wrongdoing by insinuating that they had accepted some form of an illegal bribe.

That's despicable behavior, particularly if he wasn't willing to back up such a bold statement with at least a little bit of evidence.

It didn't sit well with Alexis Scott, who told the New York Times on Thursday that she was outraged by the statement, and that all the rumors associated with Scott's recruitment were "lies."

"If I got any money or anything, then they need to check my bank account and bank records," she told the Times. "I don't play games like this."

Maybe what's most disturbing is that UT fans used to be among the best around. Classy and knowledgeable.

But lately, they've gotten a little spoiled when they don't get their way. They don't seem willing to accept a simple truth: Darrell Scott chose Colorado because of his relationship with running backs coach Darian Hagan and his belief in head coach Dan Hawkins.

That's why he committed to Colorado in the fall, and it's why -- after a period of wavering -- he chose CU in the end. Colorado simply outworked Texas from Day One. Scott's line of reasoning is one that was consistent from the very beginning.

UT fans also apparently can't face facts in a couple of other areas:

Texas coach Mack Brown changed running back coaches in January. The coach with whom Scott had developed a relationship -- Ken Rucker -- was moved out in order to make room for UT favorite son Major Applewhite. While that will no doubt pay dividends in the long run for the Longhorns, it hurt Texas in Scott's case.

Texas does not do a good job in recruiting away from home. Only four players on UT's current roster are not from the Lone Star State.

And, since we're speaking of NCAA violations, the text message sent from UT quarterback Colt McCoy to Scott -- witnessed by a New York Times reporter -- is at least on the surface a minor violation.

Meanwhile, the wild accusations that the Big 12 and NCAA have already begun investigating CU's recruiting of Scott are -- how do we say this so UT fans can understand -- misguided.

The Big 12 doesn't have an investigative arm. Conference spokesman Rob Carolla told the Times on Thursday that the league has not received a request from any of its member universities to look into Scott's signing.

Meanwhile, CU officials are in the process of completing their normal post-recruiting review process. It's something CU does annually, and they're confident that they handled Scott's recruiting the right way.

"We complete our due-diligence background every year," said CU athletic director Mike Bohn. "We review our coaches' files, we meet with our compliance people and we put everything into an NCAA file should there ever be any need in the future."

And, to be honest, Colorado can't afford to even think about stretching the rules these days. After running into NCAA troubles under the former administration for allowing walk-ons to eat at training tables (a practice that's now legal under the NCAA's rules), Buff coaches must absolutely, positively walk the straight and narrow.

That's exactly what they're doing -- and all the Texas whine in the world won't change that.

Hello everyone- hope that you're in as good of a mood as I am... let's look at the 2 statements taken from the above story - go ahead, read 'em... If something doesn't happen to Texas for Colt (Concussion - I'll never play in the NFL 'cause I'm a crybaby) McCoy's actions after the BS WE endured for a fu**ing training table violation that WE SELF REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we know how corrupt the BIG 12 is - Mack Brown takes talent and ruins it... Hawk takes 'mediocre' and makes it 'good,' takes 'good' and makes it 'great,' and takes 'great,' and... we'll we'll see REAL soon what he's about to do with LOT'S of 'great' I for one ame a huge believer and say that we pack Folsom on April 19th - GO BUFFS!!!

Also - give a 'shout out' to USC's Mark Sanchez - as Buff fans we should all relate to him being 'accused' and then RIGHTFULLY EXONERATED for a 'rape scandal that wasn't' (See Katie 'terrible' Hnida and her Cult of Liars led by Lisa Simpson and the Gold-Digging quartet) and his awesome endorsement to Darrell Scott to tell him how much he loved visiting Scotty Mcknight in Boulder and that D. Scott would love it too - that's a classy kid!!!! Good luck to you Mark! I had the privelege of talking to him and Kai Maiva's brother, Kaluka, who will be a stud MLB at USC next year, when they were both here watching us DESTROY Nebraska from the front row/sideline of the game. They are both great guys and I wish them the best!
I used to think Texas was classy - now I just hope that we demolish them - and if we happen to hit C(rybaby) McCoy REALLY REALLY late like that thug Kelson did to Klatt - I will have no sympathy at all... As someone who really likes a nice steak dinner, I can tell you the best cow is a dead one!

What's an elite program like texas worried about anyway? I don't understand their concern..., all that depth, and 4-5 star athletes especially from the grande lone-star state? I just don't understand their uproar?...., Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh...LOL!

Smells like Sonsini had more at stake if Scott signed with Texas than we may know. Was there a Texas sized carrot dangled in front of his nose? Just wondering. Everybody, let's get a "fan letter of intent" day going for the Spring game. Let's show Colorado our support for Hawk and his program on April 19! Go Buffs!

I'm with you for the most part JAWS, but I can't advocate late hits on quarterbacks even as retaliation for the Klatt incident.

Also, I don't think the text from Colt was that big of a deal. He's not a member of the coaching staff. While it's fairly apparent why he was texting, he could pass it off as a call of support from a buddy.

I do hope that we get to the bottom of this whole thing, so that we have an open and shut case and this doesn't become a myth that festers amongst Texas fans for years to come.

Thanks for the article Neill.

It's amazing to me that people have such pathetic lives that their entire existence is measured by a sports team. I love CU football as much as anyone but I just can't imagine being such a loser that I have to start spreading horrible rumors about people I don't even know just to justify why something didn't go the way I wanted it to with my favorite sports team. Pretty darn sad.

UT just can't believe they got outhustled by one of the best up and coming recruiters in the business. The administration needs to get Hawk's extension deal done NOW, give him everything he wants as far as upgrading the program, and making sure the assistants are paid what they deserve. Living out here in the Aloha State, I watched UH's refusal to listen to June Jones about upgrading facilities and paying assistants, and it cost them the best coach they'd ever had (who then ran to the dirtiest school ever in SMU, they can still throw coin around there in Dallas). Let's hope Bohn watched and learned from that...

Going to heed the call from Mac on the 19th of April! Buffs from Hawaii will be represented that day!!! Can't wait to see you run D. Scott and Polk!

GO BUFFS!

Darrell Scott's mother should file the law suit against Sonseni. CU should stay above the fray.

I do hope Bellinger beats out Cody because we know Cody is a very good QB and if we get a bigger better one (with better arm strength and running ability) then CU will be great. Cody will be an excellent back up, holder on kicks, (trick plays) etc.

The O line looks like it could soon be as good as any in the country and if Scott is as good as they say (and yes we do remember M. Houston) then CU could be amazing as the pass game (and Solder and Josh Smith have HUGE potential) gets opened up.

Looks like our linebacking core could be as good or better than any in the nation also.

Id like to see CU go on the offensive on this - Ive read the trash on the UT boards - Shaggybevo, orangebloods.com and the Austin paper - unbeleivable trash. We know we are above it - there are unreal claims out there.

Neil - in all seriousness, something to look into is Sonsini. Not starting rumors here, but it came from their own fans, citing coaches and event UT regents, over the last two months that he was offered a job at UT to deliver Scott.

dont know if there is anything to it obviusly, but no wonder the guy is bitter if there is

Let's focus on the great recruiting class, look forward to a great spring practice with multiple jobs open, and have a great crowd on April 19th! PACK THE SPRING GAME! 4/19/08

Posted by clbuff on February 9, 2008 at 3:56 p.m. (Suggest removal)

A couple of things bother me about the accusations. First, we are CU. We have been in the headlines for everything wrong that goes on with our football program. When our player do something wrong, it always makes SportsCenter. To break NCAA rules for us would be ridiculous because we are already under a microscope. Add to that the scrutiny gained by recruiting a top 5 player and cheating would be downright careless. To break rules while that player's recruiting experience is being documented for TV would take stupidity to a whole new level. I would like to think our coaching staff is not that dumb. Hagan recruited Scott for 2 years. Scott was more comfortable with our coaching staff and RB coach. UT made a coaching change at the last minute. I know my opinion is biased, but these accusations from UT fans are unsubstantiated and sound very petty. Let us not forget that OU got the top 3 players out of TX this year, and their coaching staff has already been caught cheating (Rhett Bomar). Maybe these people accusing us should be focusing their efforts there.

I would have to agree with everything that clbuff said about the level of stupidity it would take for something of this nature to take place during the filming of a reality show that is following Darrel's every move. In addition I find it rather humorous that they are referencing some prominent booster that owns a bank in the area and has offered Darrel's mom a high paying job. That's news to me since the athletic department gets a million dollar contribution from someone about every 5 years or so. Does anyone remember how long it took for the practice bubble to be put up? Oh thats right they've been talking about since Neuheisel was here. If we have this mythical booster that owns a bank then why hasn't he been giving more money to the University in the past?

I would like to thank the Camera Sports Writers for their great coverage. You guys rock! Ringo says he can block but I really doubt that.

Been taking my kids to CU games since '91. My son went to the rail to watch a punt Ben Kelly took to the house and his eyes were like doughnuts when the crowd exploded. My daughter (now a Soph at CU) thought football was about dippin dots and cheerleaders till the 64-36 drubbing of Nebraska. She became a Buff fan that day and we've all rushed the field several times since (OU last year). We have been to all Spring games, practices and major events. I'm recruiting Spring Game attendees also. How can Lincoln put 78K people in the stadium and CU has maybe 2K at best...at least we get good seats. There is something special going on in Boulder. Talk to your co-workers, neighbors and even the trash dude. Get them out. Hawk love rules!

Posted by nolanjp on February 9, 2008 at 7:51 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Nebraska has only football and nothing else. So in the spring, there is nothing else to get excited for. I live in Omaha and witness this year round. I lived in Colorado for 5 years and wondered the same thing, but the reality is you have "just bronco" fans, the Nuggets, the Rockies, CSU fans, and Air Force fans all within a two hour radius, and plus there are a million outdoor activities to do in the spring. In Nebraska its football, and that's it. In the paper yesterday they stated they have already sold 40,000 tickets for the spring game! I don't believe we will every be able to do that, but things are looking very positive and lets keep the goal realistic and shoot for 20,000 and then grow upon that. Selling out the stadium is unrealistic right now.

Posted by JimmytheBuffalo on February 10, 2008 at 10:55 a.m. (Suggest removal)

20buff is right on two counts. First, the stadium can be filled if we get the right people motivated. I'm sick of the half-as*ed support the program has had to put up with since I've been part of it, beginning in the '70's. We're finally moving in the right direct with a program students/alums/fans should be proud of. Saying we should be happy with a 40% turnout is no longer acceptable.

Second, the real investigation on the Scott recruiting allegations needs to focus on what the T.U. (that's right, T.U., not U.T.) booster(s) were offering Sonsini for successfully convincing Scott to commit to their program. His reaction makes it obvious that his payday didn't pan out. With any luck the truth will come out, but if not, CU and D-Scott are nevertheless the clear winners and no amount of whinning will change this.

Go Buffs!

JimmytheBuffaloe and 20buff:

I'm a realist. If you want to pack that stadium for the spring game, your team has to be a proven winner. We're a team on the rise and we had a great recruiting class, but that's it. All that we have right now is a lot of excitment, not wins. I commend Hawk on everything he has done so far, but you guys just think cuz we get Scott and some other recruits, 50,000 people are going to show up. Most Colorado fans are fair weather fans, and they have no clue about Scott right now or anything else. They only care about CU football when there wins are a plenty ala 2001 and 2002. Our last two respectable years. A 7-6 record with a big 12 North title is crap. Hawk will have us winning, and being a CU fan there is one thing that we don't get very much of. Consistency! The more consistent we are, the more people will follow year round.

I hate Nebraska with a passion. But they are a model of one thing. Consistency! Not the last couple of years, but prior to that. Pre 2001. That is why they sell out for the spring game. That is how you win fans over. Being good and staying good and keeping your fans interested. Going to the Fiesta in 01 and then the Alamo in 02 were awesome, but the next year 3-8 and Calhoun leaves. That's what I mean.

I'm a huge Buffs fan, I got my ass kicked here in Omaha growing up. I've taken many punches for my Buffs. But slow down...............It will happen as long as Bohn and Hawk are with us. It can't happen over night and it won't.

Nolanjp. Just a little background, in case you haven't heard the push behind the spring game drive. I went to the Buff lunch last Wednesday and Coach Mac asked the 1,600 people (a record, by far, for this annual lunch) to pledge to bring 50 people each to fill the stadium, at least this one time, hopefully more. They want to film it for recruiting purposes and to give Buff fans a chance to prove it can be done. Can we count on it every year...probably not. This year? Maybe. Let's give it a shot. I promised my 50 and have 12 committed so far. Can I count you in as number 13? We're all on the same side, and standing up for the Buffs in Nebraska is awesome - keep it up!

Hornfan - your team in 2005 was awesome, one of the best ever, and deserved to whip our team good in that game. That kind of team only comes around once a century and took care of everyone that season. Our memories of that are blocked out, though, by the 2001 Big XII Championship Game (yet another home championship game for T.U.). Remember that one - an easy one for you on your way to the Rose Bowl? How sweet was that?

Never mind that an option QB coach has built a relationship with him and can coach him properly on running the ball or you can have a passing QB in college who has a new job every year teach you about foot work for which he has little experience.

While congratulations are in order for CU's biggest recruiting coup in ages, I have to strongly object to this unnecessary and frankly perplexing attack on Texas fans. I don't know if the Daily Camera is a small paper/big paper and what their mission is, but posting a column of pure conjecture and anecdote does little to help my impression.

The writer asserts to be fully in touch with the emotions of all Texas fans, which is impressive if only because such a thing is not only impossible, but is stated with no evidence or verification whatsoever. Where are Texas fans calling for investigations and acting like babies? On team message boards, on team blogs? If you want to respond to blog posts then register an account and post on their board. Don't take a jumble of words that could have been posted by anyone/anywhere to issue sweeping indictments of a fanbase covering tens of thousands of people. To unequivocally attack Texas fans based on a sole quote from Scott's OWN high school coach is laughable.

"Where are Texas fans calling for investigations and acting like babies?"

Texas_grad, try a very simple exercise. Google any combination of Darrell Scott, Austin American-Stateman, Sonsini and New York Times. Click on any of the results. Read them. Then, in the case of the AAS, scroll down to readers' response.

Alternatively, check out the on-line article posted on this site concerning Mr. Scott's signing-day decision, taking particular note of the Texas fans' posts.

There you will find the answer to your question.

Posted by texas_grad on February 11, 2008 at 10:06 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Oh I understand that's where the columnist got his "evidence," which is why I voiced my objections in the first place. He did not write "I looked at user posts on an online newspaper" because he would look ridiculous. It's insane to claim that as a fan barometer. Here's the equivalent: there's a facebook group called "Dan Hawkins should be fired" where a number of Boulder students have registered. Does that give me license to write a news column claiming Colorado fans want their coach gone? What if I waded through user comments of a story on the Independence Bowl and someone said "Cody Hawkins sucks," then wrote a story claiming Colorado Fans want a QB change. It's lazy journalism at best, outright fiction at worst. I'm on Texas blogs every day and we're talking about our basketball team and the 2009 recruiting class, not this garbage.

Posted by rodrigo on February 11, 2008 at 10:26 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I don't see any evidence that Neill was trying to paint all Texas fans with one brush. And heck, even the NYTimes mentioned the Internet assualt; to deny that it exists is pretty creative.

After all, the first published account was in the Austin American-Statesman, not the Boulder Daily Camera.

Was that responsible journalism?

Did you write the AAS expressing your outrage?

Something tells me your outrage is highly selective.

- "lately, they've gotten a little spoiled when they don't get their way."
- "They don't seem willing to accept a simple truth"
- "UT fans also apparently can't face facts"
- "how do we say this so UT fans can understand"

how do those NOT paint Texas fans with one brush. I particularly enjoy devoting a column to attack low class acts, then peppering it with attempted ad homs. I don't read the AAS because I don't think it's a good paper; regardless of what it reports it's far from ideal to claim yes this is a bad reporting job but this other paper did it too, so it's ok. In the end you may think it's semantics but the difference between defending Colorado while saying something like "certain Texas blog posters criticized Scott" and "all UT fans are classless" is very important to me as it tries to paint me (I'm a Texas fan so I must be stupid and personally mail DScott hate mail) and my alma mater in a negative light.

Posted by hershalsavage on February 11, 2008 at 10:58 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Having attended both schools, I've watched the recruiting with some interest and can say there is a reason why Texas fans are generally considered obnoxious J@ck@a$$e$ around the country.
Texas has everything, it is one of the wealthiest schools in the country, (and the world for that matter). That's a fact. UT fans get real upset and pout when they don't get something they want. CU is struggling to get things turned around but Hawk is doing a good job.
The Buffs had been recruiting D. Scott for 2 years. (they knew about him because of his uncle Josh Smith) Texas shows up a couple months ago when Jamaal Charles decided to go pro and expects Scott to go there because "We're Texas". Hahaha. That slogan (used in UT promotional spots) says it all. While there is no question Mack Brown is one of the best recruiters UT has ever had, he's never been a stellar recruiter when he travels outside of Texas.
Additionally, UT should probably concern itself with keeping its own players out of jail. (see Austin Police Department Blotter for '07) As opposed worrying about one recruit from out of state that decided to go elsewhere.

Posted by rodrigo on February 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Still curious... did you take the Austin American-Statesman to task for starting all of this by basing an article on Internet rumors, too?

Until then, you're just a selective, self-interested hypocrite.

Holy smokes!!
I just checked out the statesman and man they are upset at CU, their coaches, and Mr. Scott. The funny thing is they are just as uneducated and hateful as some of our fans. It's just funny. The 70-3 score came up a ton, although I remember a certain CU-Nebraska score being said allot. Texas is a great school but I still feel they can't recruit outside of Texas. Where's T. Pryor? He could have been the reason they would win their next championship. If you look at their roster they have 95% Texas players. Of course allot of these players are great, but my feeling is they loose out on all the other talent in the nation. CU on the other hand gets it's top instate players and looks everywhere for top talent. I love how our recruiting has gone the past 2 years and it can only get better. Here's to beating Texas and standing proud!!! Go Buffs!!

Yes the superior classiness here is abundantly clear, especially in the name-calling and desperate attempts to pick fights present throughout. If you're going to claim the moral high ground it would look slightly less pathetic if you didn't try to use an athletic department slogan as your reason for hating a school. Believe what you want, but 99% of Texas fans don't care about this, and if you're one of the few Colorado fans that has to use dubious information to churn up hatred for another school for no real reason that's pretty sad (see how easy it is to not blame everyone?). Congrats on Scott, and good luck to the classy Buffs out there who are actually being rational.

texas_grad, move on...

The dislike that CU harbors for Texas is mostly based on your classless play during the Big-12 championship game.
However, neither paper should be running pieces on internet rumors.

The sooner sites are having a good laugh on this one. They really hate the Whorns...

"Yes the superior classiness here is abundantly clear, especially in the name-calling and desperate attempts to pick fights present throughout."

Ummmmm, Tex Grad, I'd encourage you to not "take a jumble of words that could have been posted by anyone/anywhere to issue sweeping indictments of a fanbase covering tens of thousands of people".

You appear guilty of the same transgression that, as a guest to a traditionally pro-CU site, you accused Neill Welk of.

I visit Scout.com frequently, and much like the University of Colorado, Texas is represented by fans demonstrating a spectrum of sportsmanship. I have seen several particularly nasty responses from Texas fans, but in my mind those people only represent themselves.

At the risk of playing the "your news source started it" card, this column is largely a response to the baseless, and irresponsible article (whose entire foundation required the reader to leap from the quote of one coach to a rumor started in anonymous internet post).

But back to my original point...you're a hypocrite.

HEY TEXAS FAN/GRAD... GIG 'EM..

Posted by walto_clown on February 11, 2008 at 12:31 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Oops, a couple of things:

--The Dallas Morning News was the source of the irresponsible article. I failed to complete that thought.

--Woelk vice "Welk".

--Finally, Tallisall is NOT a CU fan. He's a frequent troll on this site. His use of "whorns" though not exclusive to his posts, was clearly designed to provide some evidence to support Tex Grad's claims. I don't care if Tex Grad sticks around, he at least puts some thoughts into his posts. I really wish Tall would either develop the fortitude to represent his own thoughts or go away.

nolanjp,

Just read your post - GOOD MAN!! See you and your recruits on April 19th - beers and brats at the tailgate are on me!

walto,

thanks for the correction.

Texas grad,

Seems you're the one picking the fight. Also, I think you're the one who started calling people names, or are journalists no longer people?

My suggestion: if you don't like Mr. Woelk's writing, don't read it. If you think the Camera's a rag for printing it, ditto. If you prefer the company of the 99 percent of the Texas fans who don't stand for what the other 1 percent peddle, feel free to go hang out with them. If you don't like the attitude on this site, don't visit it.

Actually, maybe you, rswright and Ave8ter should just exchange e-mail addresses. That way you can continue your one-man wars with each other.

Once they find out the alligations are false the NCAA should look into maybe that Texas was paying this guy to get Scott to go to Texas. I mean why do you make up lies and try and destroy someone like this? If they are lies then something else is behind this to make him do this. Is he a Texas alum or something?

I watched the video on Rodney Stewart and have come to 2 conclusions. This kid is really special and that the high school league he played in does not know the meaning of the word tackle.

As for Sonsini he is a low down sneaky jerk just looking out for himself. Seems to me Darrell and his mom caught onto him and cut him out of the picture the last week of recruiting. Sounds more and more like he had something in the works for himself at UT.

We got Scott. It's done deal. NOW SHUT UP! Who cares about Sonsini and who cares about Texas. If they decide to investigate that's what they'll do, but for now WHO CARES!

I've seen the Stewart clips before and this crazy follow up on the recruiting. The TU fans I know have moved on from the "he who shall remain nameless but now annointed" rhetoric. Buff fans will have a great spring anticipating a first class schedule. DS please keep your lips dry and your private parts private at least for a few games this fall. The spotlight on our players, coaches and fans will be brighter than ever. When we won the title there was one ESPN and the internet was like AM radio. Our players, coaches and fans will now be subjected to scrutiny like never before. Get smashed at an SEC game, no problem. Get whacked at Folsom on a Saturday (I promise we will get some games moved to an evening kick) and we will have congressional hearings on our belligerence. Buff fans-you asked for it-you got it. Like Barry Sanders said when he was in the end zone, "I act like I've been there before". DScott for the Heisman in 09. Hey tex grad- can't wait to see Colt drop his pom poms when he comes to Boulder. Dude won't make it through the North this year in one piece. If KState can rock him wait till he gets it at a mile high. The life he saves may be his own. txgrad, tail is all and Dr Tom--Get your weak takes off our site. While you're at it, super size my fries...

If the NCAA doesn't announce that they are going to investigate CU then there is no point in talking about it. It's like me starting a rumor that Scott Frost of Nebraska is gay and then people bloggin about it for 2 weeks.

Posted by kimolukela on February 15, 2008 at 7:48 a.m. (Suggest removal)

Who Cares about the horns? Like Nebraska, they believe that everyone should kneel before them, and worship the ground that Osborn or Brown walks on. What really scares both programs is that Hawke has turned around a declining program in a couple of years. Plus, we were able to fill in the missing pieces of the puzzle (Katoa, Scott, Polk, Givens, etc). Stop your crying, and support your team the right way! C U in the Big 12 Championship!
On a side note, I can't wait to fly out and watch CU destroy Nebraska at home! Go Buffs!

Wow, do people like horn82 really have nothing better to do than down their openents. I would never catch myself talking to other loosers from other schools.
GO BUFFS!!!

Per the Dallas Morning News via collegefootballtalk.com, a certain St. Bonaventure recruiting coordinator just got the boot. Maybe this will end the "debate."

You don't seriously think Texas fans care about facts do you? Now they are saying on hornfans that now Sonsini will be able to "tell all." What utter morons.

"Most Colorado fans are fair weather fans, and they have no clue about Scott right now or anything else. They only care about CU football when there wins are a plenty ala 2001 and 2002. Our last two respectable years." Nolanjp

Truer words were never spoken nor ignored by the ignorants who spend their time googling every obscure fact on recruiting and ignore the published facts on AD's budget, expenses and revenues.

Don't: pressure the AD to grant extensions and raises, refurbish the facilities and keep up with the Huskers when his budget shows he can't.
Do:Spend your time finding your fifty and contributing to the program.
Risk: don't and Hawk and Bohn will be gone in 3 years and you can start all over again.
