CU men finish 10th in Big 12 tourney

TRINITY, Texas -- The Colorado men's golf team finished 10th in the Big 12 Championships on Sunday afternoon.

The Buffs entered the tournament as the sixth seed, but were doomed by a tough first round. They closed with a two-round 594 total on Sunday, the fourth-lowest score over the final 36 holes of the tournament.

No. 5 Oklahoma State led wire-to-wire in winning by 20 strokes, as the Cowboys successfully defended their league title in winning a sixth Big 12 crown and 51st all-time league title. The Cowboys were the only team under par, finishing with a team score of 1,141, or 11-under.

Sophomore Luke Symons was Colorado's highest finisher, tying for 28th after a final-round 74 gave him a 300 total.

Women finish 11th

STILLWATER, Okla. -- The Colorado women's golf team finished 11th in the Big 12 Championships.

No. 14-ranked Oklahoma State grabbed the lead and never relinquished it to win its sixth Big 12 Tournament in program history. OSU took the team title with a score of 912. CU finished with a total of 1,002.

Buffs senior Lindsay Senger led the way for CU, finishing in a tie for 27th place.
