Buff men struggle, stand 11th after first two rounds

TRINITY, Texas -- The Colorado men's golf team struggled through the first two rounds of the Big 12 Tournament on Friday and finished the day in 11th place.

Sophomore Luke Symons recorded the best single round for the Buffs, a 1-over 73. Coupled with a morning 76, he finished with a 149 and is tied for 22nd.

Colorado, the sixth-seed in the meet, still has two rounds to climb in the standings, but No. 5 Oklahoma State has a commanding 15-stroke lead over Texas. The Cowboys have a team score of 567, while the Buffs shot 614.

"It was a little bit of Murphy's Law today," CU coach Roy Edwards said. "Whatever could go wrong did go wrong. Basically, we struggled in almost all areas of the game."
