A University of Colorado football player accused of second-degree assault won't be in court until next month.
Police allege Lynn Katoa, 18, assaulted a student at an off-campus party in the 1000 block of 12th Street on Feb. 16.
He was due in court today for a preliminary hearing, but that proceeding was delayed until May 5.
Katoa is free on $5,000 bond.

Hopefully they are waiting to find exactly what happened. I still don't get how no one knows who tasered Kotoa's friend.

One possibility - they are working on a plea agreement, with Katoa pleading guilty to a lesser charge. Such a deal would require consent from all of the parties involved, and that may be what is causing the delay.
Even with a plea deal, Katoa still faces a long suspension from the school. Just hopes he sticks around the team and keeps running the chains. It would be a shame to lose him for more than just this fall.
