Buff women in eighth at Stanford Invitational
PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Colorado women's golf team stood in eighth place after the first round here Friday in the Peg Barnard Stanford Invitational, CU's final regular season tournament.

A challenging course helped inflate the scores of the individual field, as the best score recorded was an even-par 71, with 35 scores of 80 or higher posted on the day.
No. 17 California assumed the 18-hole lead with an 11-over par 295 team score. Colorado finished with a 31-over par 315.
CU sophomore Christine Kim opened the tournament with a two-over 73 on the 6117-yard, par-71 Stanford University course. She is tied for sixth overall, just two strokes out of the lead.

Netters blank ISU
AMES, Iowa -- Colorado's tennis team ended a two-match losing skid Friday by sweeping to a 7-0 win over Iowa State to improve to 8-10 overall and 5-3 in the Big 12.
The Buffs not only won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches, they were stretched to three sets in only one of the singles competitions.
