2ndbuff, big time football? OU schedules 1 out of 4 non-conference games against real opponents and CU 3 out of 4.......and yes you can bring up Montana ST.
and yes OU hold a large advantage in overal head to head records but most of that was during the pay the players time under Switzer....head to head is 8-8-1 since 1984. even over past 20 years

That's very funny 2ndbuff. Maybe all CU fans should try and act like OU fans? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,2...
Good sportsmanship indeed! I've heard OU likes Rocky Mountain oysters, but come on.

How come the BuffZone home page still says CU-Miami (OH)? I hope the Sooners play like the RedHawks!

Ow... 23 point spread. Here's hoping that we get to see a good game! Maybe we can at least cover the spread... Go Buffs!
(...dreams of an upset.)

2ndbuff:
Thanks for the article! Didn't really have much to say on short QB problems but just that Rex (specifically) is "short and slow" and that isn't ideal. They also brought up that it only became a problem when his O-Line broke down and he just hucked the ball down field. I think it should also be pointed out that this is a Chicago newspaper and the overall atmosphere for Rex is poor to begin with. Whatever though...
Other things I pulled away from it:
Rex is 6'1"... is that short? I was unaware. I thought over 6' was tall. Regardless, Cody is what according to you? Lets say 5'9". Doesn't matter... I like comparing this PRO quarterbacks stats to Cody's (2007):
Rex pass PCT: 52.8%
Hawk's: 54.8%
Rex TDs: 1
Hawk's: 6
Rex total yds: 500
Hawk total yds: 937
Int's for both: 6
Short may not be as much of a factor as we think? I mean... yeah, it OBVIOUSLY plays some part, but making wise decisions is extremely helpful!
...and yes, I understand how everyone is bigger in the NFL and so the size discrepancy between Cody and CU's O-Line and Rex and Teh Bear's O-Line is probably close to the same... I dunno... just my armchair analysis.
Thanks for sharing though!

FSU Cheating Scandal "...a six-month investigation by the school revealed that at least 23 Florida State athletes were implicated in cheating on tests.
The NCAA has investigated similar allegations at a number of schools over the past decade that resulted in harsh penalties at Baylor, California, Fresno State, Georgia, Howard, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami, Minnesota, New Mexico State, San Diego State, Southern Cal and Texas Southern.
Florida State has had a pair of brushes with the NCAA in recent years, escaping serious sanctions both times. "The NCAA found no major violations or lack of institutional control after a yearlong investigation that centered around a November 1993 after-hours shopping spree at a local mall where several players received about $6,000 worth of tennis shoes, sweats and other sports gear paid for by prospective sports agents."
Amazing. Let's see, CU gets hammered by the NCAA because we self report that some athletes were inadvertently under-charged for their meals. Oklahoma and FSU get......nothing for their more serious transgressions. Let's see what the NCAA does, or doesn't do, to FSU after they conclude this "investigation."

So articulate over there at soonerfans.com! It's funny... I see a post with some coherence and it turns out to be a visiting Buff fan. =) I do suggest perusing their message boards. It's good for a laugh if nothing else.

2ndBuff you are actually the Anti-Buff. What are you a Nebraska fan, who can't get any air time on their posts so you come here to flaunt your wisdom? If you really knew your stuff you would be coaching the game not blogging about it. Go back to your fantasy leagues, Cornboy.
By the way you stoled my Flutie comparison from a few days back. Real insightful.

Your second comment seems a lot more honest than your first, 2nd buff.

2ndBuff, you've made many valid points and solid observations regarding tomorrow's game. Oklahoma could put some serious points on the board unless they turn the ball over, which has been the Sooners undoing in the past couple of years. Snapping the ball over the punter's head will be a touchdown if it happens against Colorado. But, if the Colorado offense doesn't sustain a running game and are forced to pass, this will be a problem for CU. Hawkins will develop into the kind of player that Paul Smith is for Tulsa, but he is playing behind an offensive line that is starting some young guys (at least one or two freshman, I believe). Colorado is also playing against a defense that is pretty exceptional despite the loss of DE John Williams. Folsom Field will be rocking for homecoming and I hope the Sooners are ready for it. I would love another blow out win, but I think CU will play hard and with a lot of poise, possibly covering the spread.

Congrats to CU. The team played a stellar game and did what they needed to do. Create turnovers and score with a shortened field. The defense limited the OU offense and the CU offense kept the OU def. on the field so long, you could see they were dog tired. But give credit where credit is due, CU is a good team that beat a good team. Here's to a rematch in December for the Big 12 title. Good luck on the rest of the season Buff fans!
