Derrick White clearly is enjoying himself so far this summer in Utah.
The former Colorado basketball star has put together an impressive three-game start for San Antonio in the NBA Summer League, posting a monster all-around game in a Thursday night victory against the Grizzlies. White made 5 of 8 3-pointers before finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
The performance continued a stellar week for White, who has averaged 23 points, seven assists, and 6.7 rebounds through three games. He is shooting .453 overall (24-for-53) with a .417 mark (10-for-24) on 3-pointers. White, the Spurs' first-round draft choice in 2017 who is hoping to play his way into a bigger role in San Antonio next season, will be back in action Saturday afternoon against the Pacers (1:30 p.m. MT, ESPN2).
On Friday night White's former CU teammate, George King, will make his pro debut for Phoenix's Summer League team in Las Vegas. King, the Suns' second round selection (No. 59 overall) in the draft two weeks ago, finalized a two-way contract with Phoenix this week. King and former Arizona star Deandre Ayton, the top overall pick in this year's draft, will make their pro debuts Friday night against Dallas (7:30 p.m. MT, ESPN).
