Fans of the Colorado men's basketball team will have an opportunity to watch the new-look Buffaloes in action ahead of the Oct. 30 exhibition match against Colorado Mines.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Buffs will host an intrasquad scrimmage at the Coors Events Center that will be open to the public. As CU has in past years, the scrimmage will be held in conjunction with that day's home football date against Cal. The Buffs have been waiting to announce a start time until the kickoff time for the football game was settled.

On Monday, the Pac-12 announced that kickoff time will be at noon at Folsom Field. CU will finalize the basketball scrimmage time in the next couple days, but it likely will be an early-to-mid-morning affair. It also will be held just two days ahead of the exhibition game against Mines, which won the Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season and conference titles a year ago.

"Mines will be a true exhibition. This will be more of a black-and-gold thing," CU head coach Tad Boyle said. "I don't know if we'll go 40-minutes or not. We'll kind of get a feel for that the closer it gets. But we'll definitely do an open scrimmage for the fans to see. That way somebody who might be in town for the football game but might not be in town Monday (for the Mines game) will get to watch. And it gives these guys a chance to get in front of some people."
