Even half a world away, the basic program pillars of defense and rebounding are serving the Colorado men's basketball team well.

The Buffaloes continued to make the most of their trip to Italy on Monday, routing Vicenza All-Star 87-54 to move to 3-0 on the club's four-game trip. The Buffs will face Novipiu Junior Casale in the tour's final exhibition game on Wednesday.

CU was able to overcome a pedestrian effort from the floor and an even more frustrating showing at the free throw line by putting the defensive shackles on Vicenza, holding the hosts to a .328 mark from the field (20-for-61) while forcing 24 turnovers. A total of 17 steals highlighted those turnovers, a defensive effort paced by four steals from Lucas Siewert, three from Deleon Brown, and two apiece from George King, Tyler Bey, and Dom Collier.

The Buffs used those takeaways to post a 24-8 advantage in points off turnovers.

While the Buffs shot .413 (31-for-75) with a sobering .556 mark at the free throw line (20-for-36), CU dominated the glass with a 58-39 rebounding advantage. Senior Tory Miller (now going by Miller-Stewart) led the Buffs with nine rebounds, with 7-footer Dallas Walton adding eight and Siewert recording seven.

Freshman point guard McKinely Wright paced the Buffs' offense by going 6-for-10 with 13 points and four assists in 23 minutes. Namon Wright knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, while King posted 10 points and four rebounds.
