Tad Boyle has a lot of questions to answer this season.
Who will replace: The leadership of Cory Higgins? The scoring of Alec Burks? The 3-point shooting of Levi Knutson?
Colorado's head coach has wisely decided to start looking for answers in Boulder instead of Puerto Rico.
The Buffs have added two home games to the 2011-12 schedule, starting with a season-opening game against Fort Lewis on Nov. 11 at the Coors Events Center. The CU women will also open the season at home that night against Northern Arizona.
The game against the Division II Skyhawks, who were 24-8 last season, will allow Boyle to get a look at his new lineup before CU opens the Puerto Rico Tip-Off against Wichita State, the defending NIT champion, on Nov. 17.
The Buffs will play either Alabama or Maryland in the second round on Nov. 18 and a third game in Puerto Rico on Nov. 20.
Boyle has also added New Orleans (16-6, Independent) to the home slate on Dec. 28 as part of an eight-game home stand -- the longest in program history -- from Dec. 7 through Jan. 7.
CU's non-conference schedule also includes road games at Air Force (Nov. 23) and Colorado State (Nov. 30) and home games against Georgia (Nov. 28), Fresno State (Dec. 7), Wyoming (Dec. 9), Cal State Bakersfield (Dec. 19) and Texas Southern (Dec. 22).
The Buffs begin their first season in the Pac-12 with three consecutive home games against Utah (Dec. 31), Washington (Jan. 5) and Washington State (Jan. 7) before a road trip to Cal (Jan. 12) and Stanford (Jan. 14).
