In her first year as Colorado's starting goalkeeper, redshirt sophomore Julia Lisella has made quite the impression on the college lacrosse scene. Now she's ending the season as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's (IWLCA) Goalkeeper of the Year.

Lisella, along with teammates Sarah Brown and Darby Kiernan, were selected to the IWLCA All-America teams. Lisella and Brown were named to the first team, while Kiernan was tabbed to the second team. This is the second IWLCA All-America honor for Brown and Kiernan. Brown was selected to the second team in 2017 and Kiernan was named to the third team.

Lisella was named to the IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region first team earlier this season after recording a 13-5 mark in goal. She led the Pac-12 in save percentage (0.503), and was second in the league in saves per game (9.17) and goals against (9.34). Nationally she is seventh in goals against and was 10th in save percentage. Lisella, an All-Pac-12 First Team member, was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week twice (March 19 and April 26). She also earned All-Pac-12 Tournament Team honors and was named to the Tewaaraton Top 25 list. Lisella recorded 10 or more saves in seven games during the campaign, which included a career-high 17 against Southern California on March 16.

Brown, the 2018 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, was a two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week this season, earned the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week honor on April 11 and was named to the initial Tewaaraton Watch List at the start of the season.

The all-region selection led the Buffs with 34 caused turnovers and her 1.70 caused turnovers per game ranked second in the Pac-12. She is also fourth in the conference in ground balls per game (2.90) and seventh in draw controls per game (4.05). Brown provided an offensive spark for the team, scoring five goals and adding two assists. She was 3-3 on free-position attempts and scored on five of her six shots on goal.

Kiernan was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week five times, including the final three weeks of the regular season, which was the most for an individual player in the league's inaugural season. An all-region selection, she was named the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week (April 18), Brine/USL National Player of the Week (March 12) and Alpha Lacrosse National Player of the Week (March 14), and was tabbed to the Tewaaraton Top 25 list. Kiernan led the team in goals, assists, points and draw controls. Her 101 points is a CU single season record, surpassing her previous record of 77 points from the 2017 season. She also set the CU single season goals (70) and assists (31) records. Kiernan earned 159 draw controls, besting her former single season record of 120 from 2017.
