The University of Colorado men's golf team scored a school record for 18 holes on a par-71 course, posting an 11-under-par 273 and a 5-under 563 to win Tuesday's three-team, two-round Ballyneal Challenge in Holyoke.

Nebraska had a score of 585, while Wyoming was at 586.

CU junior Jeremy Paul was first overall, posting a 9-under 133 thanks to six birdies in each round. Finishing second was a fellow Buff, senior Philip Juel-Berg, at 6-under 136.

Junior Ethan Freeman finished fifth at 1-over 143 after shooting a 67 in his second round.

"It was a good start, and the guys really responded in the second round," CU head coach Roy Edwards said. "Jeremy and Philip had good, solid first rounds but they all came back and played well in the afternoon. We had five new guys playing, and it was windy early during much of the first round, so I think almost everyone was a little nervous to get started. But once they settled down, I think things went pretty well."

Next, CU will participating in this weekend's 16-team Gene Miranda Air Force Invitational.
