Colorado State, with its players seemingly unaffected by whipping winds, carded a 5-under 283 in the final round to leap from fifth to first. Utah, which led after each of the first two rounds, was 10 strokes worse than the Rams in the final round. The Utes finished two strokes back of CSU with an 857 team score.
The Buffs` final total was 871. CU sophomore Kevin Kring tied for 13th with a 215 total. He was the tournament leader after he opened with a course- and school-record tying 8-under 64 on the 7,301-yard, par 72 Eisenhower Golf Club Blue Course.
Northern Colorado`s Steve Bidne won the tournament with a three-round total of 206.

ALBUQUERQUE -- The Colorado women`s golf team finished 10th in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Sunday.
Pepperdine, ranked 14th in the country, led wire to wire and finished with an 859 total.
The Buffs checked in at 903, led by sophomore Emily Talley. She tied for 22nd as an individual with a 223 total.
Oregon`s Kendra Little earned medalist honors with a 207.
