CU running backs coach Klayton Adams, who also coaches CU's tight ends, was pleased with how that group performed in the opener.
"I thought they blocked well and I thought they blocked physical and they played really hard," he said.
They also made a few plays in the passing game. Kyle Slavin and Scott Fernandez each had two catches, combined for 23 yards.
"There are things in that position that we had to address this week, as well, but I was encouraged by the way they played and the passion that they played with and now we need to take another step," Adams said.
