nice whiff on all the good targets, Hawk.
NSD has been a fizzle outside of 4-5 recruits.

Kind of bummed about a top 60 class (scouts.com ranking).
People are eager to see Simmons - but he's a JC guy who may not qualify academically.
Simmas better not forget to go to class the rest of year. Buffs need him badly.

Simmons won't even step foot in Boulder. I'm having PT Gates flashbacks. If the kid really wanted to play he should have gone to K-State where they'll let anyone in.

OK, I know the recruiting class wasn't a top 10 class or anything, but just think, you can sorta add in Jon Major, Lynn Katoa, Ray Polk, Max T-M to this class since non of them played a snap last year, and the fact is that Ryan Miller is only going to be a sophomore again...And if Simas can get in a snap, the team is young and filled with talent that noone has got the opportunity to see. Next 2 years will be a nice increase in talent on the field.

are you kidding me?!?!? after the year of the injury, sports columnists are going to be falling all over themselves trying to claim they saw the CU stampede coming, it took 4 years but hawk is going to have one of the best O-lines in the USA

Forget about the recruits that got away. McCartney used to say that he does not worry about losing out on high-profile recruits. What hurts much more is getting recruits whom the coaching staff later find out can't play. In this respect, Hawk does an excellent job of evaluating recruits. If most of these recruits can play, then this recruiting class will be a success.

This from today's Merced newspaper regarding the three recruits from Merced: "To meet NCAA eligibility requirements, high school athletes must meet certain academic standards. They have to pass 16 core classes, which includes English, Math and Science. They also must meet GPA and SAT score requirements. As of now, Bolden, Cooper and Mayfield fall short in one or a combination of those requirements. Although, Mayfield has a legitimate shot of signing with a school in June with a strong spring semester. For Bolden and Cooper, it appears they will have to find another path if they are going to play big-time college football. "If I have to go the junior college route, I know what I have to do," said Cooper, who eventually wants to play for Miami. "There's still another way to go. I'm not giving up. "It's important to me. It's a shot to put me in school." Cooper said he plans on playing at Modesto Junior College next season and will set up his classes in the next few weeks. Bolden is considering junior colleges like Butte College and College of the Sequoias."

Harris will be a stud at CU. If we had signed Freeman too it would have been unbelieveable. Someone said Simmons only problem was a late SAT score. That being true he will start and help immensely this year

The Daily Camera should lose its press credentials with the university athletic department until it removes these message boards. I can't see any reason why a recruit would want to read the whining, pissing and b!tching here then want to come to CU.

extra, it was Jewel Hardy who had the late SAT score. Not sure what the story with Simmons is. The fact that he chose CU over KS tells me he isn't afraid to put the work in for the classroom. Hopefully he was a victim of immaturity in HS and has pulled himself together at his JC.

According to Rivals Alabama ended up with the top class. Think they can beat Utah this year?....who wound up at 44 just a couple of spots ahead of us.
I cant figure their system anyway. U of S FL has one more 4 star and 3 more 3 stars than the pusskers but is ranked 2 spots behind them.
Do they actually give points for the runza-chinese hordes ?
