Falcon High School standout Kalen Ballage has made a decision and will attend Arizona State University to play football for the Sun Devils. Ballage's Signing Day announcement was pushed back yesterday because the school was closed due to winter weather.
"It's a situation I've never been in before," Ballage told ASUDevils.com's Chris Karpman about his recruitment. "I think having things pushing back was even worse for me because I went back and forth between ASU and UCLA and ASU and UCLA. So I think the time was a good thing but also a bad thing."
Word spread earlier today on the Internet that the 6-foot-2, 216-pound athlete with a 4.37 40-time is sticking with his original pledge to be a Sun Devil.
Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre alluded to the Buffs waiting to hear from Ballage during his Wednesday Signing Day press event. Watch the presser here.
"I spoke with him [MacIntyre] today. He really didn't have much to say," Ballage told CHSAANow.com. "He just kind of congratulated me and told me that I should go far in life. I thanked him for that. He's a really good guy and good coach and I think CU's going to do good things with or without me."
New 2015 QB offer
Colorado's recruiting staff wasted no time in getting another 2015 offer out the door. According to multiple sources, the Buffs have extended an offer to Servite (Anaheim, Calif.) quarterback Travis Waller. The 6-4, 185-pound, dual-threat Waller is rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals and Scout. He threw for 1,669 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions as junior according to Maxpreps. He added 1,293 yards and 13 scores on the ground for the 6-6 Friars.
