While Colorado is still putting the finishes touches on its 2019 football recruiting class, the Buffaloes are off to a good start in 2020, as well.

Cherry Creek High School offensive lineman Carson Lee gave his verbal commitment to CU on Saturday night, becoming the first pledge for the class of 2020.

“I am proud to announce that I will be representing my home state and playing college ball at the University of Colorado,” Lee said on Twitter. “I can't wait to live out my lifelong dream of being a BUFF!!”

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Lee has a three-star rating by both 247Sports.com and Rivals.com. At 247Sports, he is rated the No. 7 overall in-state prospect for 2020.

In addition to CU, Lee has had scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Duke, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Utah, Virginia and Washington State.
