CU corners vs. WSU receivers

It's been a bad — really bad — two weeks for the CU secondary, and now the Buffs get to face the nation's No. 1 passer, Gardner Minshew. CU's corners have to be at their best against a talent group of Cougars receivers, led by Tay Martin, Dezmon Patmon and Easop Winston.

CU offensive line vs. WSU defensive line

The Cougars don't have the biggest front on defense, but they've got a very active front, and it's been solid all year. Like the corners, CU's line has struggled this season. They have to be sharp as the Cougars move around and talk to throw them off.

CU QB Steven Montez vs. WSU pass rush

The Cougars lead the Pac-12 with 27 sacks. CU has given up 22 sacks. Clearly, the offensive line has to play well, but Montez has to be able to pick up blitzes and make quick decisions with the ball to move the chains.

CU linebackers vs. WSU running backs

James Williams and Max Borghi are talented runners, but also have a combined 89 receptions. They are a talented, multi-threat duo that could hurt CU all day if the Buffs aren't careful. The linebackers have to limit the big plays from Borghi and Williams.

CU players vs. CU's training staff

Colorado has been a banged up team of late, with several players leaving games with injuries. Staying healthy — and keeping the training staff and doctors bored — would be a nice change for the Buffs.
