Colorado's 2018 football recruiting class got bigger late Wednesday night.

Tava Finau, a defensive end from Sacramento, announced his commitment to CU after midnight (Mountain time), choosing the Buffs over several other schools that have recruited him.

Given a three-star rating by Scout.com, Finau has about a dozen scholarship offers, including Boise State, Fresno State, Hawaii, San Diego State, Washington State and Wyoming.

A standout at Luther Burbank High School, Finau received an offer from CU in late June. He was in Boulder last weekend for his official visit and watched the Buffs defeat Northern Colorado, 41-21.

According to Scout.com, Finau was measured at 6-foot-4, 254 pounds during his visit to CU.

Finau is the 17th player to commit to CU for the 2018 class, and the first since late July.
