CU junior receiver Juwann Winfree has yet to make a big impact in his first season with the Buffs, but he's hoping a slight change of scenery will help.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Winfree has just three catches for 33 yards this season and has found it difficult to get on the field with Bryce Bobo and Shay Fields taking most of the snaps at the outside receiver spots.

Winfree has worked exclusively on the outside since coming to CU a year ago, but said he's been practicing in the slot this week.

"This is great," he said. "It's all God's timing and his plan and now I'm given an opportunity to take advantage of where I'm placed at. I'm going to do my best with any opportunity."

While Winfree had never worked in the slot at CU, he said it's not new to him.

"I played a little bit of slot in high school and a little bit of slot in junior college," he said. "Overall, it's not new to me, but here it's a new system, new program. It's just a work in progress for me."

Moeller healthy

Senior safety Ryan Moeller watched the final three quarters of Saturday's 41-21 win against Northern Colorado from the bench after getting a stinger late in the first quarter.

On Tuesday, Moeller said he's doing just fine and plans to play against Washington.

"I'm back practicing and everything," he said. "Nothing is holding me back."

Starting defensive end Chris Mulumba will sit out the first half of Saturday's game after getting flagged for targeting against UNC. In his place, MacIntyre said they'll use Jase Franke and George Frazier. "We'll be in good shape," he said. ... Phillip Lindsay enters this week third in the Pac-12 in rushing, averaging 126.0 yards per game. ... Washington quarterback Jake Browning leads the Pac-12 in pass efficiency rating, at 191.6.
