CU has awarded a scholarship to walk-on J.T. Bale, who is entering his second season as the Buffs' long snapper.

Head coach Mike MacIntyre made the announcement at a team meeting, with the video posted on Twitter by CU.

"I am extremely proud of him," MacIntyre told the team. "He's worked really hard and done and excellent, excellent job."

The team erupted in celebration when MacIntyre announced the scholarship, and then Bale led the team in signing the fight song.

A sophomore from La Mirada, Calif., Bale handled all of the snapping duties a year ago.

Last year's attendance was 69,850, the most in the series since 76,219 were in attendance for the 2003 tilt.
