Talented athlete Jarek Broussard has given a verbal commitment to play football at Colorado.

Broussard, from Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, announced his decision on Twitter on Friday.

"I am a highly favored individual and I want to thank the Colorado coaching staff for to believing in my talent and with that being said, I am officially committed to The University of Colorado," he wrote on Twitter.

Broussard, a 5-foot-9, 174-pound running back/receiver, took an unofficial visit to CU earlier this week. According to Scout.com, he also has offers from Arkansas State, Colorado State, Houston, Illinois, New Mexico State, TCU, Texas State and Tulane.

Last season at Bishop Lynch, Broussard rushed for 842 yards on 77 carries (10.9 yards per rush) and scored 13 touchdowns. He also caught 44 passes for 830 yards (18.9 average) and nine touchdowns. He accumulated another 510 yards on kickoff returns and 296 yards on punt returns.

Broussard has a three-star rating from Scout.com and Rivals.com.
