Pomona High School star Max Borghi is the latest in-state talent to pledge to the Colorado Buffaloes.

On Thursday night, Borghi announced on Twitter that he has committed to play football at CU as part of the 2018 recruiting class.

Borghi is the fourth player to commit to CU for the 2018 class, the third from an in-state school. The Buffs did not have their first commits for the 2017 class until Feb. 28 of last year.

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Borghi has a three-star rating by Scout.com. He also has offers from Air Force, Central Michigan and Colorado State.

Borghi has played on varsity at Pomona since his freshman year. According to MaxPreps.com, he has accumulated 4,372 all-purpose yards during his career: 2,297 rushing, 998 receiving, 492 on kick returns and 585 on punt returns.

This past season, he ran for 824 yards and had 495 receiving yards for the Panthers (12-2) before suffering a torn ACL in the Class 5A quarterfinals.

Borghi joins a commitment list that also includes Highlands Ranch safety Ray Robinson, Valor Christian quarterback Blake Stenstrom and tight end Walker Culver from Chattanooga, Tenn.

Borghi, Robinson and Stenstrom are three of the top in-state prospects in the 2018 class.
