CU has sold more than 400 new season tickets for the 2014 football season and season-ticket renewals are up slightly over the same time last year. In late May 2013, 84 percent of season-ticket holders had renewed their seats. This year the number was 86 percent.

Single-game tickets to CU football home games recently went on sale and Colorado sports information director Dave Plati reported the most popular game with the first-day tickets being sold was UCLA's visit to Folsom Field on Oct. 25. That will serve as this year's homecoming game.

The athletic department is offering season-ticket packages to recent CU graduates and young alumni for the same cost as CU students pay.

"We want to get people captured now when they're leaving when they're probably most excited about the university," athletic director Rick George said. "We want to get them on board now because at the end of the day we need to grow our attendance significantly and when we talk about funding for some of these things, we've got to get football attendance back to where it needs to be."
