The University of Colorado will kick off its football season with a 7 p.m. game against Colorado State on Friday, Aug. 29. The prime-time kickoff information was released Thursday by the school.

The Rocky Mountain Showdown at Sports Authority Field in Denver will be aired by Fox Sports 1.

Also announced Thursday, the Buffs will host Arizona State at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13. The game is CU's home opener and first game of Pac-12 play. It will be picked up by ESPNU.

“We are pleased with these two games being selected for broadcast on FS1 and ESPNU,” CU athletic director Rick George said in a release from the school.  “The 7 p.m. kickoff time for the CSU game is perfect heading into Labor Day weekend, many people leave work early that Friday and can head down early to the stadium and tailgate or pop over to the Taste of Colorado and then head over to the game.  As for Arizona State, we do understand that 8 p.m. is a little later than we'd normally like for a home game, but that time of the year the temperature in the evening averages in the low 60s, so it should be perfect football weather for our home and conference opener."

The remaining games on the Buffs' schedule do not have kickoff times yet, though infrmation for the CU's game against UMass in Foxboro is expected within the next week or so.
