The University of Colorado Board of Regents on Wednesday approved a $13 million cost increase for upgrades to the athletic facilities on the Boulder campus.

The regents unanimously approved a revised 2014-2015 two-year cash list, which includes an additional $12,999,075 for the project because of poor soil conditions and high labor costs.

The plan, originally expected to cost $143 million, includes an expansion of the Dal Ward Athletic Center, construction of an indoor practice facility and an addition to Folsom Stadium's northeast corner, among other things. Funding for the project will come from the athletic department, which is said to have raised more than $40 million so far. Construction began in May.
