A group of Oregon football fans are helping out flood victims this week.

The group is donating 250 backpacks full of school supplies, Nike gear and Oregon Ducks items to students at Lyons Elementary School.

The Ducks at the Beach Club, which is a member of the Oregon Booster Association, is from the north coast of Oregon. Project organizer Tim Regan said in a press release that the group wanted to do something to help those whose lives were impacted by severe flooding in northern Colorado last month.

Lyons was one of the hardest hit areas during the recent storms and several students have been displaced from their homes and school and have had to leave their supplies behind.

"Kids are always hit hardest by these events, so we focused our efforts on helping kids get back to school with the tools they'd need to be successful there," Regan said in a press release. "Our generous donors really stepped up and made this happen and we can't emphasize how much Nike's contribution to this effort helped."

According to Regan, the 250 backpacks, as well as the contents inside, are valued at "nearly $10,000."

The backpacks will be given to students on Friday. Oregon and Colorado will play each other in football on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Folsom Field.
