BOULDER — Junior cornerback Josh Moten, Colorado's leader in special-teams points last year, is out for the season with a blown Achilles tendon, coach Mike MacIntyre said Thursday.

MacIntyre said Moten hurt his Achilles tendon at home in Carson, Calif., early in the summer, had surgery and reinjured it about two weeks ago.

Moten had eight unassisted tackles, five knockdown blocks and forced three fair catches for 22 special-teams points, tops on the team. He played in four games at cornerback and was listed second on the depth chart behind junior Greg Henderson as fall camp approaches Tuesday.

Also, backup tight end Sean Irwin, a redshirt freshman, will miss the start of camp with a foot injury.
