The CU Buffs men's basketball game against Kansas in Boulder next season looked winnable - for a change - two weeks ago, but the Jayhawks have re-fortified and suddenly look like they will be capable of another Final Four run.
Kansas won the Andrew Wiiggins sweepstakes. Wiggins is considered the best recruit of this recruiting class and is a strong candidate to be the No. 1 overall NBA draft pick a year from now. In addition to Wiggins, coach Bill Self also landed Memphis transfer Tarik Black, who will be eligible to play right away as a graduate.
Bill Self had previously landed a top flight recruiting class that includes four of the top 40 players in Rivals.com rankings.
The Buffs will have one of their best teams next season even without Andre Roberson, who decided to turn pro last month. But it still looks like it will be a pretty significant upset for coach Tad Boyle to beat his alma mater when the Jayhawks visit Boulder.
CU has lost 19 straight to Kansas on the hardwood and 46 of the past 47. The last time the Buffs beat the Jayhawks was Jan. 22, 2003 in Boulder.
