Rivals.com reported Colorado offensive lineman Alexander Lewis has decided to transfer to Nebraska after visiting Lincoln this week.

CU spokesman Dave Plati said Lewis was granted a release from his scholarship several weeks ago but told coach Mike MacIntyre he was only planning to explore his options.

Plati said the school could not confirm Lewis is transferring because MacIntyre hasn't had a chance to speak with Lewis yet. On Tuesday at an end-of-year athletic department get together with media, MacIntyre said he was not aware of any other players who intended to transfer.

Lewis has played tight end and guard for the Buffs the past two years and was the returning starter at left guard. He underwent shoulder surgery in the winter and did not participate in spring drills. The Buffs also lost left tackle David Bakhtiari, who left school early for the NFL and was drafted in the fourth round by the Green Bay Packers last month.
