After being ranked first in 2011, the University of Colorado's Boulder campus failed to crack Playboy's list of the Top 10 party schools in America this year.

The list, posted at Playboy.com, has the University of Virginia replacing CU as the top-ranked party school in the nation.

In 2011, Playboy called the Boulder campus "home to reefer madness" and a "beer drinker's paradise" while putting the school atop its rankings.

This year, attendance at the annual 4/20 marijuana smoke-out at CU dropped drastically from around 10,000 to about 700 after the university closed down campus to the public and shut down Norlin Quad.

Of the 10 schools on 2011's list, only three made the cut again in 2012.

The University of Southern California, the University of Florida, the University of Texas and the University of Wisconsin rounded out the Top 5.

The University of Georgia, Vanderbilt University, Tulane University, Texas Christian University and Ohio State University were also in the Top 10.

Playboy also crowned Colorado School of Mines "worst" on  its "sex life" list, and gave the University of Denver a "best of the rest" mention on its best nightlife list.
