Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn discussed a variety of topics while hosting a roundtable meeting with reporters Tuesday at the Blake Street Tavern in Denver, including sharing some research showing the CU men's basketball program led the nation in attendance increases during a four-year period that concluded this season.

Bohn said the surge in attendance has been led by students who have been more loyal in coming to games and creating a fun atmosphere that has led others to want to be a part of it.

CU received overwhelmingly positive feedback on Bohn's decision to take 50 of the most loyal students to Los Angeles for the Pac-12 Tournament and 100 students to Albuquerque for the NCAA Tournament. Bohn said he plans to take students to the Pac-12 tournament again next season in its first year in Las Vegas.

Bohn said the weight room at the Coors Events Center will be expanded to accommodate the women's lacrosse program, which will have offices and locker rooms in the building. ...Bohn said new turf is being installed in July on the field where the practice bubble sits for half the year. The turf currently in use there was supposed to be replaced several years ago. ...The new video boards in Folsom Field will be installed in June, two weeks after the Bolder Boulder. ...CU will hire a senior-level chief marketing officer who will oversee a marketing department.
