What went wrong

A late eight-point lead slipped away before Andre Roberson's last-second heroics.

Star of the game

Roberson finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and the game-winner.

What's next?

Tad Boyle's team will play No. 2 Cal tonight in the semifinals.

LOS ANGELES -- Tad Boyle has the Buffs in another final four.

Sixth-seeded Colorado advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament late Thursday night with a March madness-style 63-62 victory over No. 3 Oregon at the Staples Center.

The Buffs (21-11), who will play No. 2 Cal tonight (9:40 p.m., Root Sports), kept their NCAA Tournament dreams alive and may have burst the Ducks' (22-9) bubble.

Andre Roberson, who had 20 points and 11 rebounds during Wednesday's 53-41 win over Utah in the opening round, scored the decisive basket on an offensive rebound with 15.6 seconds.

"Our guys, they're here on a mission," Boyle said.

Devoe Joseph's desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer missed. Nate Tomlinson's defense made things difficult for the Ducks' scoring machine on the final possession.

Joseph scored 24 points on 11-for-16 shooting against the Buffs in the previous meeting, a 90-81 Oregon win one week earlier in Eugene. The 6-4 senior had 12 points on 6-for-19 shooting this time with Tomlinson and Spencer Dinwiddie draped on him throughout the evening.

UP NEXT: The CU/Cal winner will play the Oregon State/Arizona winner in the championship on Saturday at the Staples Center (4 p.m., CBS).

"I was expecting them to go to Joseph," Austin Dufault said of the final possession. "He's been their best player all year and he's great with the ball in his hands."

The Ducks were held under 40 percent shooting from the field.

Meanwhile, Carlon Brown was 7-for-13 on the other end with a game-high 18 points. The senior guard was aggressive during crunch time, making a rainbow shot and a rhythm 3-pointer to give the Buffs a 47-39 lead with 12:48 to play.

Oregon head coach Dana Altman called a timeout to regroup. In the other huddle, Boyle implored his team to "be the aggressor" down the stretch.

"What have you got?" Boyle asked the Buffs.

CU played lock-down defense on the next possession, but an offensive rebound -- Oregon cashed 19 of them in for 16 points -- led to a hoop for Joseph, who scored eight quick points to get the Ducks back on track.

After a couple of clutch free throws by Jeremy Adams, a timely 3-pointer by Dinwiddie and a floater by Askia Booker, CU appeared to be in control with a 58-50 lead with 7:27 to play.

"I thought Carlon did a great job on (E.J.) Singler. Nate was terrific on Joseph," Boyle said. "Spencer and Ski, for freshmen, have really grown up defensively."

Oregon responded with a 10-0 run, tying the score on a basket by Tony Woods and taking a 60-58 on a put back by Carlos Emory with 2:42 left.

Joseph and Brown exchanged pressure shots before the drama in the final seconds.

"We were just trying to attack and we didn't want to take a jump shot," said Roberson, who grabbed a Dinwiddie miss in the paint and put home the winning field goal.

Roberson finished with another double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds). Woods led the Ducks with a career-high 14 points.

CU survived and advanced despite getting out-rebounded 43-29.

The Buffs led 34-33 at halftime after shooting 51.7 percent and holding the Ducks to 37.8 percent.

Oregon opened the game with a pair of 3-pointers and led 13-6 after Garrett Sim knocked down his second basket from behind the arc.

Tomlinson answered with a 3-pointer that sparked an 11-2 run. A Dufault field goal gave CU its first lead, 17-15, with 12:28 remaining in the first half.

Booker made a 3-pointer and threw down a dunk off a steal to give the Buffs a 34-29 advantage with 3:40 to go before the break.

Oregon didn't allow another point in the half and had a 22-14 edge on the glass at the intermission. That included 11 offensive rebounds that led to seven second-chance points.

A year ago, after making it to the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 5 seed, CU was snubbed by the NCAA Tournament and finished the 24-win season at the NIT semifinals in New York.

USC was the only No. 6 seed to win the Pac-10 Tournament in 1999.

The Buffs and Bears (24-8) split their two meetings during the regular season with each team winning on its home court.

"We played Colorado recently. We had a tough game at their place, we had a tough game with them at our place," Cal head coach Mike Montgomery said. "They're a solid basketball team. They match up well with us. They play a lot like us."
