The University of Colorado track and field team looked sharp, collecting numerous top five finishes here Friday at the Joe Davies Classic in Golden.

Sophomore Elisa Grandemange led the Buffs with a first place finish in the weight throw. Grandemange recorded a throw of 54-2/16.51, which is right off her PR mark of 54-9.50/16.70.

The Buffs were loaded on the men's side of the weight throw as Matthew Denton saw huge success hurling a PR mark of 50-3.25/15.32 to finish third overall, coming in behind Colorado Mines' Sam Pauling. Coming in right behind Denton in fourth place was Grayson Webber with a 49-5.50/15.07 mark, while Austin Swanson threw for a PR of 48-3.25/14.71. Two other Buffs threw for PR marks in Aaron Haigler (46-2.75/14.09) and Caleb Penner (44-3.50/13.50).

Freshman Eriana Henderson saw success in the long jump as she finished second with a PR distance of 19-2/5.84.

In the men's pole vault freshman Davis Butte cleared a PR height of 14-4/4.37 to finish sixth overall.
