Colorado cross country coach Mark Wetmore was named Mountain Region Coach of the Year for the 15th time in his career on Wednesday, this time for the job he`s done leading the women`s squad.

CU star Jenny Barringer was also honored, grabbing the title of Mountain Region Athlete of the Year.

Barringer and Wetmore led the Buffs to the Mountain Region women`s team title last week. Barringer won the race individually, while the women earned an automatic NCAA Championship berth with their team crown.

Wetmore has been named Mountain Region Coach of the Year 10 times on the mens` side and five times on the women`s side.

Barringer and the No. 6 Buffs -- including the entire men`s team as well -- will compete at the NCAA Championships on Monday in Terre Haute, Ind. The event will be televised live on Versus, with the men`s race starting at 10:08 a.m. and the women`s race following at 10:58.
