Barringer ran the 6-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 50.9 seconds at the La Vern Gibson Cross Country Course.
The Buffs recorded 94 points and defeated No. 11 Florida State by 46 points. Oregon was third.
Barringer finished almost 30 seconds ahead of Florida State`s Susan Kuijken, who ran a mark of 20:22.8. Barringer ran the majority of the race as a time trial, coming across the midway point at 9:46.6. She was 25 seconds in front of Kuijken, whose 3k split was 10:10.5, and was able to cruise to the finish.
Two freshmen also had big performances for the women`s team.
Allie McLaughlin recorded a top-10 finish with a 20:45.6. She was .5 seconds behind ninth-place finisher Emily Infield (Georgetown) and beat Michigan State`s Emily MacLeod by .6 seconds (20:47.2).
Laura Tremblay, another freshman, was the 24th harrier to finish the race (21:11.9) and was the third CU runner to finish.
The Colorado men`s team, which is tied for fourth in the national poll, came away with a second-place team finish in the men`s 'white` race.
Christian Thompson was the men`s top finisher for CU in 14th place.
Thompson ran the 8k men`s course in a personal record 24:04.0. His previous best was 24:43.8, which he set a year ago when he finished 79th overall.
Junior Richard Medina was just three places behind him (17th overall) and ran a time of 24:07.3. His mark was also a 16.7 second personal best.
The men were second with 130 points. No. 1 Stanford won the men`s 'white` race with 47 points. Portland, which is ranked No. 8, was third with 211 points.
The next race for the Buffs is the Big 12 championship on Oct. 31 in Columbia, Mo.
